Features of the Business Card

This is an ABN AMRO Business Card

A business credit card for owners of small and medium-sized businesses. It enables you and your employees to pay for purchases and withdraw cash in the Netherlands and abroad. The ABN AMRO Business Card is issued by ICS, one of our subsidiaries.

Application conditions

You can apply for an ABN AMRO Business Card if:

Your company has a banking relationship with ABN AMRO;
Your company is registered in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce;
Your company has a permanent address in the Netherlands;
No legal proceedings are pending against you or your company for non-payment;
You do not have a negative registration with Bureau Kredietregistratie (BKR) in Tiel. This requirement applies to all natural persons.
You are 18 years of age or older.

You meet the above criteria and your company is:

Established less than 2 years ago:

- You can apply for a business loan of up to € 500.*

Established more than 2 years ago:

- You must submit annual figures from the last 2 financial years (last financial year and the year before that), or;
- You must have filed annual figures for the last 2 financial years (last financial year and the year before that) with the Chamber of Commerce.

* In addition, cash withdrawals, gambling transactions and purchase of jewellery are not possible. To increase the spending limit, you can deposit money into your account via iDEAL.

Purchase protection insurance:
Nearly all purchases paid for with your credit card are covered against loss, theft or damage for 180 days.

SafeGuard Support:
Worldwide assistance for emergencies during a trip. (Advances of up to € 4.600 and legal aid up to € 1.400)
Additional travel accident insurance:
The insurance covers you for a maximum of € 115.000 in the event of death and certain types of disability resulting from an accident while using public transport, a rented car or a rented aeroplane, which was paid for with a Mastercard Business Card.
- Safeguard Insurance Support conditions
Luggage delay insurance (for scheduled flights):
- For a 4 to 48-hour delay: necessary purchases (clothing and toiletries) are covered up to a maximum of € 140.
- Over 48-hour delay: additional cover of up to € 410 per travel party.
Flight delay insurance (for scheduled flights):
If your flight is delayed for over 4 hours, you're covered for up to € 140 for the cost of meals (food and drink).
Delivery and internet guarantee:
- Delivery guarantee: sometimes, an item you've ordered online with your credit card doesn't arrive. If you can't reach an agreement with the supplier, ICS will revers the transaction on your behalf.
- Internet guarantee: protection against internet fraud. If someone misuses your credit card details to make online purchases, you will be fully refunded.
24/7 fraud prevention:
ICS tracks payments made with your credit card 24/7. If they are seriously concerned about suspicious transactions, they will contact you immediately. If their suspicions about fraudulent transactions are confirmed, you will be fully refunded.
3D Secure:
3D Secure (also known as Mastercard Identity Check) provides extra security for your online payments. It is a personal password, just like a PIN code. You are the only person who knows your code and it is invisible to suppliers and shopkeepers.

Since 2016, ABN AMRO has been under a legal duty to establish the country in which its clients are resident for tax purposes. We ask existing clients about this when they apply for a new credit card, as they then become a new client of International Card Services B.V. (ICS), the financial institution that manages credit cards for ABN AMRO. Read more about the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) (NL).

Deposit guarantee scheme

Credit on an ICS credit card is protected up to € 100.000 per primary cardholder under the deposit guarantee scheme. If the primary cardholder has several credit cards (issued by ICS), the total positive credit on all the cards will apply. Credit higher than the € 100.000 limit is not covered by the deposit guarantee scheme.

Frequently asked questions

What is my monthly credit limit on an ABN AMRO Business Card?

You can request your own limit, but the amount authorised will depend on your company’s situation. ICS will assess the limit that is appropriate to your financial situation. To increase your spending limit, you can deposit money into your account via iDeal.

How can I request an extra card?

If you already have an ABN AMRO Business Card and want to request one or more extra cards, complete the online application form through ICS. They will process your application.

How do I pay using a credit card?

You can pay for items in a shop (contactless or with a PIN) and online. You can also use your Business Card to make cash withdrawals from affiliated banks and/or cash machines. The credit card can be used at all locations displaying the Mastercard logo. This logo is shown on the front of your credit card.

The card will work digitally via a wallet or wearable, using Apple Pay or a Fitbit or Garmin smartwatch. The Conditions for Digital Business Credit Cards apply to these transactions.

How much cash can I withdraw and what does this cost?

Fees

Fee for cash withdrawals from a positive balance: 1% of the amount withdrawn, with a maximum of € 1,50.

Withdrawals from the credit limit: 4% of the amount withdrawn, with a minimum of € 4,50.

Limit

€ 3.000 per day. However, your company may have agreed a different limit so ask your contact.

New business owners with a € 500 company limit on their card cannot withdraw money from a cash machine.

How can I block my credit card if it is stolen or lost?

If you lose your credit card or if it is stolen, you can prevent misuse by blocking it immediately.

Blocking your credit card
Call ICS directly on +31 (0)20 660 06 11 (usual charges apply) to report your credit card missing and have it blocked. Once your credit card has been blocked, you will be insured against misuse.

Finding your credit card
If you find a credit card that you’ve reported missing, it will no longer be valid. Cut through the chip (on the front) and the hologram (on the reverse side) of this credit card.
