If you’re in receipt of benefits or a pension, you may not agree with decisions made by a government body, for example, or a pension fund. If this develops into a dispute, the Pension and Social Security module guarantees you legal help and advice from ARAG.

 

What sorts of things are covered?

You and your family are guaranteed legal help and advice in the event of disputes within the European Union, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland concerning your benefits or pension. You and your family members are, for example, insured for disputes:

  • With a current or former employer and/or an implementing organisation regarding a pension.
  • Relating to benefits paid on the grounds of social insurance legislation, for example with the SVB (the organisation that pays out Dutch state pensions).
  • Arising as an unpaid board member of an association.
If you choose the Work and Income module, you don’t also need to choose the Pension and Social Security module, because the Work and Income module automatically covers Pension and Social Security.

Maximum cover

General
  • All expenses for the legal specialists employed by ARAG are covered.
  • The maximum compensation for external costs (fees paid to a legal specialist or expert who doesn’t work for ARAG) is €50,000.
  • If you choose to engage your own lawyer or solicitor who doesn’t work for ARAG for proceedings that do not legally require a lawyer or solicitor, the maximum compensation for this lawyer or solicitor is €6,000.
