Managing your assets

Opt for our Portfolio Management service and you no longer need to worry about managing your assets — our investment specialists will do this for you. That’s great, because it lets you benefit from their expertise and years of experience. Naturally, you want to be sure that your money is in good hands, which is why we explain to you who our specialists are and how they work.

Selecting the right risk level

Together with one of our Investment Advisers, you will choose the risk profile that is right for you and your personal situation. This profile determines which products go into your portfolio. There are five risk profiles to choose from, ranging from a low-risk profile (defensive) to a very high-risk profile (very aggressive).

Stay up to speed

If you want to know how your portfolio is doing, simply consult the investment report you receive each quarter, telling you how your investments have developed and explaining the investment policy pursued in the last quarter.

Annual review

Review your financial situation with the Asset Advice Specialist annually and determine whether your goals are still the same and whether they are still feasible.

After the meeting, the Asset Advice Specialist will put together an advice report, explaining how your investments are doing and what adjustments can be made.

How our investment experts manage your assets

Asset allocation

The ABN AMRO investment committee first determines the asset allocation in your portfolio, in line with your risk profile. In other words, they check the permitted level of investment in equities, fixed income, liquidities and alternative investments in certain sectors and regions for each risk profile. This committee is made up of economists, research analysts, portfolio managers and investment specialists.

Fund selection

ABN AMRO Investment Solutions’ investment specialists select the best performing investment funds for your portfolio at that time. They look at the costs, performance and risk management of the investment funds in great detail.

Portfolio composition

The portfolio manager puts together your portfolio, based on the investment committee’s vision and the selected funds. In doing so, he or she carefully considers which composition would be suitable for your goal and the selected mandate: ESG Fund Mandate, Impact Funds Mandate, Multi-Manager Mandate or Comfort Income Mandate. The quarterly report will list the investment funds selected and other information. Once your portfolio has been compiled, the portfolio manager will monitor it continuously. If ABN AMRO’s vision changes, the manager will change your portfolio immediately to bring it into line with this vision.

Roles

You could think of ABN AMRO’s experts as being chefs and your portfolio a certain dish. The asset allocation is the recipe for that dish. The chef’s goal is to make the best possible dish, and he can only do so using a good recipe and the best ingredients.

Investing entails risks

Investing entails risks. You could lose (some of) the money you invested. If you are going to invest, it is important that you are aware of this. Invest with money you can spare. Keep a buffer for unforeseen circumstances.
