Frequently Asked Questions about Multibanking

Multibanking will be discontinued on 1 December 2024. The reason for this is that very few of our clients use the service in its present form. We are working on a new service, which will appear under Insight in the ABN AMRO app at some time in the future.

For now, you can only add and view current accounts held with other banks on a temporary basis.

Multibanking to be discontinued

Very few clients use the Multibanking service that we currently provide. We are planning to introduce a new service in the future that is better suited to the needs of our clients. It will be available under 'Insight' in the ABN AMRO app.

No, you don’t need to do anything. We will delete the link automatically on 1 December 2024. From then on, any current accounts you hold with other banks will no longer appear in your ABN AMRO account overview.

If your consent for Multibanking expires before this date, we can retrieve data from your other bank until 1 December 2024 if you give consent for Multibanking again. Multibanking will then be discontinued and you’ll no longer see your account with the other bank in your overview.

We will delete any data relating to accounts you have added. Your consent for linking the account will also be deleted.

Open the ABN AMRO app and select Profile > Accounts and payments > Accounts with other banks. You can delete the link with another bank here yourself.

Data from the account you added will no longer appear in your ABN AMRO account overview. You can of course view your balance and transaction details with the other bank using that bank’s own services.

General questions

Multibanking allows you to link a current account held at another bank to your ABN AMRO account overview. It is aimed at ABN AMRO consumer clients aged 16 and over, who hold one or more current accounts with ASN Bank, ING, Rabobank, RegioBank or SNS.

You can link your account using the ABN AMRO app or Internet Banking. Here’s how it works. Once you’ve added an account, your balance and transactions for the last 90 days will appear in your ABN AMRO account overview.

Please note: this service will be discontinued on 1 December 2024. From this date onwards, any accounts that you have linked will no longer appear in your ABN AMRO account overview.

We use account data from other banks in the same way as data from your ABN AMRO accounts. Please read our privacy statement for more details.

No, you can’t. You can only view your balance and transactions relating to at least the past 90 days.

This is a statutory requirement. It’s possible that your consent will expire and you’ll be asked to renew it before 1 December 2024, even though the Multibanking service is about to be discontinued. If you give consent again, the account will remain in your overview until 1 December 2024.
