To open an account for your child, you need your ABN AMRO bank account number. If you are not a customer yet, you can open an account.
You can also add a second applicant. This person will also have access to your child's account.
Have your child's citizen service number (BSN) ready when you open the account. This number can be found on your child's ID.
We will ask you a number of questions about your child. Many of these questions will not apply to your child. You can then simply answer 'No'. Banks play an important role in combating fraud, money laundering and the financing of terrorism. By law, we are obliged to conduct customer assessments for every new customer, including minors.
You can also opt for requesting a payment card and e.dentifier straightaway. If you do not need one yet, you can do so later.
Your child's account is almost opened! All you have to do is check your application and read the documents carefully. You can then digitally sign the application using the e.dentifier or your mobile phone. You will receive a confirmation of your request by e-mail. The account is not immediately opened. We first check your and your child's data.
Has your application been processed? Then your child's account number will be added in your Internet Banking and the ABN AMRO app within 5 working days. The account is not yet visible in your overview. See how to add your child’s account. If you have requested a payment card, you will receive it within 7 working days.
As a parent, you naturally want your child to grow up to be a happy adult who can stand on his own two feet financially. Therefore determine together with your child what is and what is not possible with the Young Person’s Growth Account. Like setting a payment limit, disabling online purchases or getting a notification when your child makes a payment.
